The BEST smelling Itr (Perfume) I’ve come across…

*Update* It would make sense that just from the name it may not be geared towards men (I just recently found out the meaning of Aroosah…)

Moving on… Please post the best men’s itr that you have come across or have!

Assalaamu ‘alaikum.

I’ve been given an itr here or there from masjid brothers. Some smell weird/okay and others… well… ya… So someone gave me this brand a while back along with the traditional shalwar-kameez, and I just recently realized to beseech Sheikh Google.

aroosah-crown-perfumes

Aroosah 6 ml Perfume by Crown Perfumes

One thing, though, I’m hoping this is MEN’s perfume? If anyone would kindly like to confirm this I would really appreciate it!

    Assalaamu Alaikum

This is my speculation – since I can’t smell it…

It seems it’s women’s rather than men’s because it’s called “Aroosah” i.e. “Bride”, and the package has flowers. If you look on the store website (where the picture is from), the men’s bottles don’t have flowers on them.

When I was in an itr store once, the musk varieties that were for women were called “Aroosah” and other feminine titles.

I guess this would be why it smells good.

Walaikumsalaam, hmm… I’m still trying to convince myself it is for men as well, it smells too good!

Here is one from Dar-us-Salam for men with a flower on it:

Or it could be for both genders… the possibility exists!

    Assalaamu Alaikum

The Dar-us-Salam one is from a different line. The al-Rehab line (which the Aroosah belongs to) has masculine names/boxes for men and flowrey feminine names for women.

    At any rate…you are right…the possibility exists…

What I forgot to say in my last comment is that my husband kept asking the salesperson if the musk he’s giving us as a sample is for men and women…sometimes he’d say women…sometimes he’d say it’s all the same.

Hope that brings some ease. If it’s not so obviously feminine and if it’s indeed one of these musky varieties which smell close to each other…then…

Correction: “if the musk he’s giving us as a sample is for men OR women”

Wear what you like, seriously why is a smell only for women or only for men? That’s ridiculous.

  19. July 7, 2009 at 9:08 pm | #19

I see where you’re coming from Jake but I’m not so sure I would go around wearing my sister’s perfumes (definitely feminine, a class in its own). That would definitely raise concern among the brothers.
